These Houses Want to Live

In my eyes, culture is a complex set of traditions, beliefs, and rules. Balinese people are one of the communities in the world that uphold its culture that stems from thousand years of wisdom. One example of it is reflected in the traditional Balinese architecture. Through the Balinese old script of "Asta Kosala Kosali" written circa 1100-1400, we could see how detailed their ancestors have laid out instructions on how to build a house that aligns with the "self" and "cosmos". A blueprint that has helped these houses prevail through generations. Borrowing the concept of evolution, these houses in the simulation are fighting for its existence by improving its material, shape, and finding its own community through several hardships of natural disasters. You will see how hard it is for the houses to converge to a single foolproof design through seasons.
