"I use visual art to metabolize scenes through my perceptions and memories. A constant movement in my life urged me to explore the perception of identity in the space where time, culture, and evolution could co-exist. The resulting scenes are reflections of perceptions and explorations of observation, creating tension that is expected in the state where appreciation is often delineated by distance in space and time."
Clarissa Poedjiono (b. 1996, Jakarta)
is a visual artist working primarily paintings and creative coding. Since she moved overseas when at the age of 16, she became aware of the importance of having a strong cultural identity and the absence of it in her.
She studied design fundamentals at LaSalle College of the Arts in Singapore in 2014. Despite her former career in technology, her engagement with art remained constant, eventually leading her to make a conscious shift and dedicate herself fully as an artist and to pursue a master's study in media design in Bremen.
